K-12 Programs
Expanded Learning Programs
The Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics, and Computing Student Programs provide inspiring STEAM enrichment and outreach for K-12 students. Our work supports K-12 students outside of the traditional school day. Through our summer, after-school, and Saturday programs we provide innovative STEAM educational outreach opportunities to thousands of students annually.
Partnering with Georgia Tech staff, faculty, and students, we offer dynamic opportunities for the Georgia Tech community to engage with families and K-12 students. Our programs offer students hands-on, exciting, and innovative ways to learn about science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics.
EarSketch
EarSketch is a free web-based platform to help students of all ages learn core topics in computer science, music, and music technology in a fun and engaging learning environment. EarSketch helps students learn to code in Python or JavaScript through manipulating loops, composing beats, remixing sounds, and applying effects to a multi-track digital audio workstation.
The Your Voice Is Power competition is your student's opportunity to remix beats while learning to code. Yes, code! For the competition, students use EarSketch, a free online code editor, to compose a unique song while learning computer science.
Georgia FIRST LEGO League
FIRST LEGO League (FLL) introduces young people ages 9 to 14 to the fun and excitement of science and technology while building self-confidence, knowledge, and life skills. While the program involves LEGO robotics, FLL goes far beyond robotics, with teams examining real-life problems and developing innovative solutions.
GoSTEM
GoSTEM is a collaborative partnership at Georgia Tech between the Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics and Computing (CEISMC) and Institute Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (IDEI). Its mission is to promote STEM academic achievement and college attendance among Latino and other cultural and linguistic minority K-12 students.
K-12 InVenture Prize
K-12 InVenture Prize is an invention and entrepreneurship program at Georgia Tech's Center for Education Integrating Science, Mathematics, and Computing (CEISMC) that challenges students to identify real-world problems and design novel solutions through analysis, creativity, and the scientific method.
Our mission is to develop the next generation of engineers and entrepreneurs by making invention education accessible to all students and teachers. We hope to broaden participation in STEAM by bringing authentic invention and entrepreneurship experiences to K-12 teachers and students.
